Hello, welcome to my website
I'm Deepa, founder of Begin At Source.
I'm a chartered accountant by profession and since graduating in 2004 I've worked for some prestigious brands such as Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Sergio Rossi and currently Deckers (most of you will know the Ugg brand under this umbrella). I was working in the heart of Central London 'living the good life' in the western world, but I've always had a feeling that something was missing. I travel alot to open my mind to new experiences and in the summer of 2019 I decided to take a career break from the corporate world to pursue this passion of mine. The experience opened me up to a world of self-discovery, discipline, patience and a whole journey into mindset, yoga, meditation and mindfulness. This was the game changer for me.
During my career break I've lived like a local in several countries (whilst I could) and following a recent trip travelling around India, some unexpected realisations came to me. As it happens, sometimes getting everything you think you’ve always wanted, such as the professional status, impressive job titles, owning your own apartment etc makes you realise those aren’t the things that make you happy. What I thought would bring me satisfaction and fulfilment didn’t, and I am on a journey into a path where I don’t have all the answers, but I know that by following my intuition I am already living a more meaningful life and through the platform of Begin At Source I hope I can help encourage you to do the same.
It was at the start of Covid 19, with the pandemic sending shock waves through the world that the importance of well-being became more apparent, not just for our physical body and immune system, but keeping the mind strong in these times of drastic change. Amongst the health crisis, lockdown, fear and what seemed like mass panic, Begin At Source was born. I had cut my travels short, returned back to London and the job market was already hit quite badly. I was lost, and slightly panicked. Working was my life in London. With all this unexpected, time on my hands I started practising Yoga and meditation, along with volunteering my time at a local yoga studio, and in doing this something about it resonated deeply within me. It felt like I had found my purpose. In hindsight, not going back into full time work immediately was a blessing in disguise because between short term and part time contracts, and the unforgettable 2020 lockdown, it gave me precious time to build a business which aligns with my purpose.
With Begin At Source, my intention is to help promote a calm personal sanctuary in a world that’s often filled with a fast paced life, always on the go and constantly absorbing negative media coverage, distractions and stress.
Self-care such as face packs and bubble baths, the odd massage when you can fit it into your busy schedule are nice, but true self-care goes to heart of who you are and what you aspire to be. For many, the tools to do this will be in following a path of yoga, meditation, mindfulness, deep relaxation and self-reflection. What ever self care may look like for you, knowing your potential and the power that lies inside us all is key so we can live the best possible life from moment to moment, and to realign, transform and reignite our passions.
I have built Begin At source with the strong intention to ignite the power and awareness of your senses, energise the soul and enhance your overall sense of wellbeing.
I hope you enjoy my site, blogs, products, and travel with me on this journey to live a fulfilled life of true purpose.
Namaste,Deepa

Fear - Khalil Gibran
It is said that before entering the sea
a river trembles with fear.
She looks back at the path she has traveled,
from the peaks of the mountains,
the long winding road crossing forests and villages.
And in front of her,
she sees an ocean so vast,
that to enter
there seems nothing more than to disappear forever.
But there is no other way.
The river can not go back.
Nobody can go back.
To go back is impossible in existence.
The river needs to take the risk
of entering the ocean
because only then will fear disappear,
because that’s where the river will know
it’s not about disappearing into the ocean,
but of becoming the ocean.
This poem is here as a reminder that what ever journey you have travelled to get where you are today, look forward with hope, faith and belief into the vast unknown, because there is nothing to fear and the ending can be beautiful.
'Whereever you are, be fully there' - Eckhart Tolle
